the critics' darling tomas jirku has delivered some new material! his new release variants [016, deleted] is part single, part ongoing experiment. every so often, tomas will add songs, make changes, perhaps delete some too, & you are invited to witness this creation process as it is taking place.

sonically, these news tracks veer a comfortable direction away from the smooth immaterial [6012, deleted], while retaining that unique jirkuian minimalistic quality you've grown to love. amazing sounds in this one, pals, you won't be disappointed.

among other site news, the artists page has been revamped & now contains actual information rather than the bare listing of email addresses which it looked like before. links to all known reviews of no type material can also be found on this page. if you know of some that we didn't list, please take a minute to let us know!

there's a lot of activity in the background as we're already in gear for the next release by effect, a duo of one jesse mcgowan & another john counts, who make some delicious post-warp electronics i'm sure you'll enjoy. watch this space for their debut no type ep! other planned releases include names such as kalx, darck, 833-45 & newcomer skoop. the idea of a no type sampler has also been thrown in the air. who knows!

it would be a shame to stop our bad habits, now wouldn't it? well, that's why i'm so late in updating this site once again!

a true goody today: electron superstar matrix assimilation comes back with Haiku, a 3-track ep quite a long way from his last one. do make yourself the favor of checking it out.

speaking of the almighty matrix, he has recently spun a mix for the obnoxiously obscure hell.com fellas, which you can hear on realaudio if you're not scared of realmedia's privacy policies yet. also, he has been busy making a mix for d2b's b0x, but i couldn't quite figure out where it is, so you're on your own on this one!

also: new stuff is coming up early next week! first, a new tomas jirku ep, variants, is hitting the streets, & it's a new concept altogether: an ep that will actually vary from time to time. so do come back often, for some of those tracks might just get deleted before you know it!

another newcomer to no type, the group effect will be delivering its debut ep very very soon. melodic idm quite unlike what you've heard before. stay on the lookout.

that's it for now. sorry for the lag on putting together no shop. you know how it is to have a day job, i'm sure. hopefully the new stuff will rock your weekend! thanks for checking in, & keep in touch!
