so you’re back? had a good vacation? don’t panic, summer isn’t over yet but well, “ordinary” life is taking hold again, right? anyway, you don’t have to dispair: you’re here just in time for a great new album, by !
eucci is jeffrey p shell, whose first two albums with us were released in 2000; they are called, respectively, & . if i mention this today, it’s so you go & download them, in case you missed them. anyway, after this, eucci has released a spectacular entry in the sine fiction series (, after william s burroughs, no less). but what he’s presenting us today is something else altogether: a 51-minute full length that’s at once unexpected & entirely uncommon. it is named. get it now, it’s good stuff!
& & &… i finally added RSS to this site, which means (for the uninitiated) that you can now subscribe to our latest news & stay informed, you know? if you use a decent, modern browser (firefox, for instance), you’ll see a small orange icon in the address bar. click it & ta-dah: on every site update, you’ll be notified. & if this technology baffles you for some reason, you just have to come back next weekend: that’s when we release the newest from … ain’t life great?

true, when it’s hot, the last time you wanna do is to talk & talk on your little home blog. that’s why we didn’t give you too much news these last weeks, despite the fact that we managed to release a couple remarkable mini-albums. so here’s a refresher, that can’t hurt we think.
let’s start with our new brussels-based friends tangtype, who offered us their very first album, the delicious flake out. one thing we can say is that the duo is quite on the mark, as their leftfield songs have much in common with the kind of albums we’ve been released lately… for once we thought we’d invent a genre name: “acousmatic pop”. we’ll get back to you on that, for now, go listen, if you haven’t already.
a band that made acousmatic pop but seven years before the word was invented? that’s asyncdrone of course! actually, it’s because following their two “avant-grrde” ver-lo-fi albums (released on no type’s first year of existence, no less), the group recorded an album called demolition blues and strangely, they never released it (before now, that is). we’ll spare the details but let’s just say this album is probably still well ahead of its time, though less than it was in 2000.
our annexe series is beginning to look pretty spiffy, & we’re quite happy about that. anyway, in the last few weeks, we’ve seen quite a few live albums, & that’s the case with our latest release, live bloops by nuthre, a follow-up to the infamous bloops for alice which we released earlier this year. nuthre continues to be one of the most bizarre composers we know, which is one of the reasons we like him so much.
& just a short addendum to announce a couple upcoming great comebacks for the next weeks. first, eucci will offer us a brand new 50-minute album… & soon afterwards, an “annexe” with long-thought-lost material! then, no less than 833-45, finally back on no type! mr krebs was with us since 2000, a fact which fills us with immodest pride. & finally, siblings, which is, basically, asyncdrone under a new name… & yet another style!
so you know what you have to do: come back every week. because you haven’t seen the last of us.
