well? for once, we’re right on time, & that feels weird. anyway. here’s a new free no type release, this time coming from our good friend nicolas bernier, whom you know (if you know what’s best for you) as one half of the well loved duo milliseconde topographie. this new album from the young montreal composer is entitled ail et l’eau faille, which ironically is an untranslatable pun which you can only understand if you know both french AND english. just sayin’ so you don’t start wondering what’s the matter with naming an album after garlic & water. so here you have a pretty bricolage of pop & acousmatics. you know, the kind of stuff you only find on no type.
(by the way (& since we’re on that topic) we’ve also added a new label on the site, ekumen, official label for milliseconde topographie & company. check out their great poster-CD projects!)
ah yeah, & more news about geisteswissenschaften, the new solo CD by a_dontigny: we have just added three full length tracks from the album, which you can now listen to on our own quite popular radio no type. this new album is very, very good & we wouldn’t want you to miss it one more day. as for everything else, see you next week!

we at no type have decided to go crazy: instead of releasing a bunch of mini-albums every other year, we’re going to release something every week. something, meaning a mini-release from our no type, no type: annexe or sine fiction series. don’t believe we can do it? we won’t blame you. we’ve been unreliable for as long as ”netlabel” was a word. that’s what makes us cool.
okay, so what’s the first on the list? none other than our good friend nuthre, who you should know for his previous releases on nishi, bricolodge & panospria, with a new album named bloops for alice. strange music indeed, & yet… oddly appealing. that’s what no type is for.
but wait, there’s more. years in the making, no type co-director a_dontigny’s first bona fide solo CD, geisteswissenschaften, finally hits the shelves. well, the ones in the rare decent record stores still alive, that is. fortunately, you can buy it online. but wait, what’s on it? 16 new tracks going from non-sequitur beats to all-out non-representational ambiance? with titles culled from philosophy & art history? & with a jon vaughn remix to boot? oh, all right, i’ll take two then. don’t thank us, we very well know how stupid the music industry would become if we died tomorrow. fortunately, we’re the modest type. so get off your ass & dance. it’s springtime, i hear.
