valentine’s day survivors unite!

how’s it going? not to depressed after the sentimental debauchery of february 14? we’re glad you’re still around, because we’ve got stuff for you. free stuff, too. as well as rather quite cheap stuff.

let’s start with the basics: 6 new, free downloadable albums. we haven’t seen that since… since… well, we won’t say, that’d be embarassing. let’s just say that finally, there’s some new music, & we could even say: the glorious return of no type into the famed netlabel arena. no type may be a sleeping cat, it doesn’t mean it has lost any of its fang…

so then, & to keep it short (ha ha), here’s the release of a selection of mythical, long awaited albums, such as:

• Dhomontèlements, a compilation of remix of Francis Dhomont works by an all star crew of notypers;
• An Sphinx Awoken, the fantastically strange album from Poseidon Council, sam shalabi & billy mavreas’ group (a song by whom has been heard on the former’s osama LP);
• Lungs and Other Organs, an album that stayed on the shelves for far too long, created by a particularly inspired Holzkopf;
• The Sunny Blount Project, a weird idea from Érick d’Orion which turned into a very real project, an alternately sober and unhinged homage to our only king, i’m of course refering to sun ra;
• L’orchestre de granulation, the long awaited, finally available recording of a sextet so far in advance on its time, nobody has understood it yet;
• and finally, Live à Résonances, another live recording, this time in saint-nazaire (france), by Ensemble Camp, who are specialising in music for prepared CD players and nothing else. you have been warned.

just a reminder: all of this is free, click here & there, & download at will. this is for you, because we like you, but in a way that is too deep & complex to be easily explained. (you know it has to be true, we wouldn’t be saying it publically otherwise.)

yes, but still?

some of you may have noticed that we have reworked our shopping cart functionality. in fact, we have lowered all of our prices and changed our shipping & tax calculation method for something more, uhm, “real-time”. those who thought no type CDs were “too expansive” (authentic quote) are bound to like us a bit more now. actually, we suggest you now buy something. anything. it’d make us feel useful.

you’re broke? so are we. so here’s a clue: prices from some of our CDs (good ones, too!) have just been slashed at 50% off. ouch! that’s what i call a deal. is this going to last? we’ll see… but if i were you, i wouldn’t take any chances and i’d buy several copies, just in case.

to finish, we’re glad to announce that this is not all, we’re also preparing a next batch of free online releases, notably from the long dormant sine fiction & no type: annexe labels. & then? well, this will sound like a shock, but we’re planning on releasing new stuff quite soon on the main label. but until then, be nice & let us know what you think of all of this. ’cause you know, love takes two… here’s my email address: dt@electrocd.com. i’m waiting to hear from you!
