don't you know that no type weeks last 10 times as long as anyone else's weeks? anyhow, here we are, back from ghost site status (it's barely been a month, duh!) honestly this should have been put back up sooner, but there you go. it's not even all done but i doubt i'll leave it like that for very long. hope you enjoy the new place!

if you noticed, we indeed have the new viceroy single. the viceroy being none other than tomas jirku, who some of you may know for his increasingly well-regarded work residing in 'minimal techno' grounds. his work as the viceroy is more breakbeat-oriented but retains tomas' sound to a fairly impressive effect. some of you will be pleased to hear that tomas jirku (as himself!) will have his debut cd (yep, real cd, pressed & all) out on montréal based label alien8 recordings, known for its pristine collection of harsh noise (merzbow, masonna, aube, knurl...) as well as the bulk of david kristian's recent recorded output (not to mention a rather insane split cd between msbr & kengo iuchi.) the cd will consist of a careful selection from the now-terminated variants, hosted on this site earlier. for having heard the master cdr, i can say it is bound to raise a few eyebrows...

on the upcoming front, the next release is credited to influenza & should be self-explanatory! next in line is themoonstealingproject, the outing of one jason urick, who makes minimalist noises shaped into diametrical songforms. & if this wasn't enough, tomas (him again!) will also release a split ep with 833-45 right afterwards.

we are told a no type mix is in the works. it's all currently in the expert hands of atari funkmeister oeuf korreckt but when & how it shall appear on the site is anyone's guess... also in the category of 'it's been a while dammit', we are expecting something called aprosody by none other than bor bennett, the man behind the oft-lauded (as well as loathed) carwax kings. something else i hear is in the works is by eucci, who should do its no type debut in the coming months. there are even talks of a new anaesthesia release, for something's sake. so i would expect the coming months to be fairly interesting, if anything?

a few words about the new site: it changed because the old one wasn't as nice as this new one. :) the upper bar will hopefully fit much better with the releases' graphics, as it is mostly gray. the releases section has been fleshed out, & now contains the embryo of the no shop. very few releases are listed so far but this should soon bloom with the notypers' extra-curricular production.
