well, it's time for a surprise update here, just in time for that special midnight. i'm about to leave to somewhere a tad more crowded :) so i'll make this quick & painless: diablatomica returns to no type with his new ep The Progressive Works of Diablatomica. this is three exciting tracks which should leave all diablatomica fans out there with their mouth gaping & stuff. this is great stuff.

on a sadder note: tomas jirku's sought-after variants are no more! well, they may just resurface in some other way in a near enough (we hope) future. but for now, this experiment in utter confusion is now done with. our apologies to those who couldn't get all the tracks: they have been updated so often, i wonder if anyone even has all the mp3s. i know i don't. :)

tomas has also decided to rid us of immaterial which is a shame but what can you do. i wouldn't worry though: more music is coming this way sooner than you think (okay, maybe not that soon.) in the meantime, enjoy the remainder of your holidays, & try not to fuck up the next millenium if you can help it.

a rather short update on the writing front, but one you shouldn't miss: skoop's skills are now exhibited on no type through his new single, Nova. mix in some acid, funk, & a good dose of rocking boxed beats. come on, it's the holidays, you're going to have to dance at some point, aren't you?

stay tuned for a new diablatomica single is on its way for a release in the next days.

the no type adventure continues today with a newcomer, the group effect, which has just released their debut ep, Primary EP v1.01. as you will see when you download these tracks, there's more than just primariness to effect, & there's more than just effects to primary. did that fall flat? don't try to make sense of my jokes, just go listen to these guys. they're good.

i have been terribly busy lately so i haven't had much time to deal with the site. hopefully this will get better in january, but be assured that there's a lot of good stuff coming up. & speaking of new stuff, tomas jirku's variants [016, deleted] are worthy of your attention, especially since they change very frequently & feature some prime material. & once a track's gone, it's gone... that's the sad reality.

actually, & speaking of gone tracks, i've been so busy i didn't even get to delete the old no type eps like i was planning to. in fact, some other solution may appear in the near future, so i'm keeping them on the ice for now as we're not in critical need of space yet.

space wasn't the only factor to delete older releases, though. protection of the artist's rights is also of concern, so far as this site is concerned, even though it'll be a while before we pretend we're making a dime out of this. my point is simply that if you leave a song in the open for too long, it may lose its value entirely. so who knows, in the future, some tracks might disappear from the no type catalogue with or without warning, at the artist's wish, & then they may or may not resurface on some other media, free or not.

for now though, there's no point in restricting ourselves, as we are a long way from global domination. though to be honest, i haven't checked the hit mark of this site in a while, i have no idea how many visitors we have, but i know that those who come here do it because they like music that goes beyond most people's expectations.

as usual we welcome your comments & musical submissions or help offers (as this site could definitely use some more content). you gals & guys take care.
