are we nearly there yet? after slacking for a whole summer, i decided to put no type back up, & as happens everytime i'm bored, i redesigned the site for the hell of it. what's new? well, quite a few things. first, we definitely got rid of the mail order section. reason is, the infrastructure we have is way inadequate for such a venture. instead, we'll support independent cd-r & vinyl releases by no type artists through the new no shop page, which you're invited to visit.

another change to no type is that we are now concentrating solely on singles & ep-length releases. no more full-length stuff on here, & the reason is simple: it takes up more room than we can provide. this also means releases will now be time-limited so as to make room for new stuff as they get released. & as you can expect, there is plenty of new stuff coming up, with new & old faces from the no type camp. everybody's selling out? so what ~ no type is going underground to bring you the best in upcoming musical mindfuckedness. get into our head for a minute, & you'll never want to enter a tower store again! to start with, a 4-song ep from yours truly, Folder, as well as andrew hayleck's debut no type ep The Paranoiac, are now available for your own enjoyment. more stuff should be posted sometime in november.

if you have the chance, check out this month's spin (with kid rock on the cover, yep) for a quick blurb on no type in the 'sound files' page, in which douglas wolk shouts out at oeuf korreckt, tomas jirku & tracing limelite's recent no type releases. also, rob geary from the excellent idm-related zine grooves has written a review on tomas' excellent album immaterial (now sadly out of print) as well as matrix assimilation's Another Arrogant Superstar, both of which you're invited to check out.

at any rate, it's nice to see that mp3 is picking up as a 'legitimate' release format (i.e. it gets talked about just like cd or vinyl). if you didn't join in on the fun yet, what are you waiting for? get an mp3 player & start downloading. it's the best, cheapest way to broaden your musical horizons, if you'll allow me this somewhat tacky phrasing.
