Live in Minneapolis
Sometime in 2001, just after the release of his Raum… Musik CD Amanecer, Dick Richards was a guest live performer at the First Avenue Club in Minneapolis, where he did what DJ slang refers to as a “killer set”. This set was available for some time on this very site but, for server related reasons, it eventually disappeared. So here it is again, as good as it ever was, which only confirms what we already knew: in a universe of copycats, posers & wannabes, Dick Richards, remains the unjustly underrated specialist of a certain timeless kind of minimal house.
A Toronto resident, Dick Richards has recently signed with the German label Raum…musik, where he now releases his attractive pieces of Berlin-influenced minimal house. Despite this sudden celebrity, he continues to collaborates with No Type. → Full bio

a long time ago, on this site, there was an excellent live recording from dick richards, known internationally for his remarkable (& unfortunately, all too rare) warm & deep house music. this recording having mysteriously been lost for a time, we are happy to make it available again under the name live in minneapolis, another no type: annexe presentation, which brings you yet another glimpse at our infamous collective past. → Continued…
