In addition to the tracks from the Free transgénique album and several live recordings, the Napalm Jazz collective has also produced a number of “home recordings” that were never released until now. A_dontigny has mixed, just for you, various sessions featuring the original Napalm Jazz kernel, but also morceaux_de_machines, L’île de béton as well as duos of A_dontigny and Philémon. Just like a decadent radio broadcast from a broken down satellite.
For almost 10 years, the québécois collective Napalm Jazz gets its hands dirty with its unorthodox approaches to improv. Ever since its beginnings at CKIA radio (Québec City) where the group performed every Sunday, their work has sprouted plenty of projects such as morceaux_de_machines. → Full bio

the things we do for you… yep, we heard you, we know you can’t get enough napalm jazz, you can’t get enough from this blessed (by satan) era where we played big mean noise on CKIA in quebec city, without caring much about the ears of our listeners or of neighbours. an era which, like an old, mite-infested roll of film, we have recovered for a mix entitled cassettes 1999-2000. cassette tapes, as the youngest among you might not know, were he recording medium of choice for weirdos like us. that was before everyone bought a CDR burner & started recording pretty much everything they did, without selection or economy. an era of wisdom. → Continued…
