Po is one of Montréal’s best kept secrets in Free Improv. John Heward and Rainer Wiens are two veterans of the scene: they have been playing this stuff since the eighties. Sam Shalabi and Alexandre St-Onge represents the next generation of musicians. All of them have an interest in abstraction, minimalism and more generally the art of sound, which gives their music this utterly unique edge. A zen mayhem, however impossible that sounds. Po has performed around Montréal many times & is a fundamental staple of the Casa del Popolo scene.
