The short answer

Yes. Please look under the Contact heading for our mailing address. Note that we do not accept Internet submissions (this includes MP3s sent by email & web links to your MP3s).

The long answer

Producing a CD is a wonderful but expensive &, let’s admit it, rather risky activity. No Type can, in a certain measure, support an artistic project (so long as we do like it upon hearing it) but we cannot ensure a proper promotional backing if the artist is then happy to sit down in his basement waiting for the results.

So, if you are interested to release an album on No Type (& we are flattered that you would), you have to put some effort into it. This could mean: organising your own tours; contributing to the promotional effort; purchasing copies of your CD for selling at concerts; having ready all the necessary documentation for a grant application (applicable to Canadian artists only); etc.

If you are not ready to get involved in this way, we will be happy to consider your project for free Internet releases. The upside? No cost to anyone. Of course, there’s no revenue either, but in many cases, it’s a good substitute for a real bona fide CD, & let’s get real, it’s bound to get you a larger audience for a first release. When releasing an Internet album with No Type, artists keep all their rights, including the right to eventually remove the album if necessary.

Please also note that, unfortunately, we don’t have the time to answer artists whose submissions are not considered for release.
