Max Haiven currently resides in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where he works at school, art, and agitation. Haiven's audio work includes his collaboration on Front with Saskatoon based media artist Jon Vaughn, released as a CD on the Montréal label NoType and subsequently performed at venues across Canada. Solo works by Haiven include his experimental folio of studies April Works and Chan Son In, a post-apocalyptic multi-media web-based comic epic collection of dance pieces, published by BricoLodge. Haiven's work is informed by the many years he spent recording as "Theyta", a project which terminated in Nice Line: A Modest Proposal: a reflection on the logics of experimental and electronic music, released by Panospria. Haiven extends his audio work with his work as a VJ and video artist. He studies the labour of artists and utopia.
